hey there y'all,
question about your collective well being? celebratory acknowledgement of the week ending! exasperated remark related to the weather. encouragement to listen to WXYC as a respite from anything!
here's what's on tap at WXYC 89.3 this week:

On tonight's New Science Experience WXYC's own DJ Pizzahero will play some sweet tunes fit for a house party. Check it from 10 to midnight! Hurry!

Sunday afternoon's the time for Hell or High Water, WXYC's dear show in which we share archival recordings from Wilson Library's Southern Folklife Collection. Give it a whirl this week from 1-2.

Tune in to Broken Music on Sunday for an hour of works by Italian experimental composer Robert Cacciapaglia. A student of both orchestral and electronic music, Cacciapaglia is unique in his ability to integrate computer music and classical instruments in a very natural and innovative manner. His experiments with pop music further reflect his ability to blur musical boundaries and realize new forms. In addition to his compositions, Cacciapaglia has worked close with the Department of Phonology at Italy's RAI. Tune in at 2pm.

Join us at 9 pm Sunday night for Sports Rap as we attempt to talk about Sports during the most lifeless part of the year for them. We'll tackle a lot of (un)important questions! Who is more annoying and offensive: Stephen A. Smith or Skip Bayless? Is Byron Scott a good fit for the Lakers? Was the Knicks' trade offer for Kevin Love adorable, or just sad? What's going on in the MLB? Is Marquise Williams delusional for thinking UNC could ever be a football school? Do we even want it to be? For that and more, tune in!

Tune in at 9 on Monday night for the Outside Track.  This week we are featuring some deep, folky drones from the French duo.  Check it out for some grainy, thick acoustic drones and gorgeous neo-folk style vocals.  This is music for disappearing into the void or some sort of elven forest.  Enjoy!
