Hello friends and family,
Greetings from the Netherlands.  It's nice here, but it's no WXYC.  Tune in this week for some exciting programming from your FAVORITE COLLEGE RADIO STATION.

Tune in this Friday at  9pm for the OUTSIDE TRACK to be lulled into warm starry nights and summer lake breezes by Lee Camfield a.k.a. Dusted Lux. This Connecticut-based ambient/experimental folk musician's  3rd full length is his most developed to date. On Neverended skeletal guitar melodies and Cambfield’s hazy vocals create a dusting of ambient folk caressed by warm drones and gentle static crunches.

Do you love to dance, tap your feet, feel stuff, move, sweat, have nice conversations, or listen to computers make sounds?  Yes?  That's great - tune in at 10pm tonight and catch WXYC's New Science Experience for a chunk of dance and beat-oriented music.  It's always a treat.

This week on Hell or High Water, the Goldband release Louisiana Swamp Boogie and Blues will be featured. Popular memory paints the music of Louisiana as one exclusively zydeco and cajun sounds; however, the blues traditions that are seemingly ubiquitous in the South also exist in the heart of the Louisiana swamps. Tune in for an hour of tunes that will help you reinvent your ideas of music in Louisiana.

This Sunday, Broken Music presents the chamber works of Laurence Crane, an Oxford based and Nottingham University trained composer. Crane operates in a deceptively simple mode, using traditional classical instruments and tonal harmony, simple chords and intervals; Crane revels in this basic refinement and instills it with both clarity and mystery. Tune in at 2pm.

The World Cup is in full swing here on Earth, which means that every country on the planet besides the USA is united by a shared interest - Actual Football.  Will the Big Old Cup be discussed on Sports Rap this Sunday from 9-10pm?  Turn your dial to 89.3 fm and find out.

Shake out the Monday blues with this week's INSIDE TRACK featuring the first full-length from Japan-born, Berlin-based industrial / experimental electronic trance artist Kyoka. Kyoka's compositions have been described as "scatterbrained" and "un-easy listening or apocalyptic ear candy," with her paranoiac, chopped-up vocals chirping and stuttering over industrial dance rhythms and chaotic noises taken from her own field-recordings and a home-built "modular synthesizer." is (Is Superpowered) was produced in collaboration with labelmates Frank Bretscheider (of Komet) and Robert Lippock (of To Rococco Rot).   Begins this Monday at 9pm!
