Short one this week, lovely listeners. What a lovely weekend, huh? Most of these are Sunday shows, so curl up and enjoy some pleasant radio programming this lovely Christian Sabbath.

This week, Kevin McKevin Hunter is doing Hell Or High Water on Malvina Reynolds. Malvina Reynolds was a political activist and singer/songwriter born in San Francisco, California in 1900. Though from California and writing mainly folk ditties, one can hear Delta Blues and Appalachian Bluegrass influences peppered into Reynolds songwriting. Most famous for writing "Little Boxes" (made famous by her friend Pete Seeger), Malvina Reynolds is the sound that it seems that Joan Baez was going for, only Reynolds did it better.

Waking up late? Never fear! Tune in to Broken Music at 2pm for deliciously dissonant music from Sydney, Australia born composer Clare Cooper - co-founder of Now NOW Festival at the young age of 19 and collective member of Splinter Orchestra (Sydney), Splitter Orchestra (Berlin), and more. This young and talented musician creates swells of ferocious and dynamic sounds with sticks and strings primarily on the harp and Chinese guzheng. Certain to excite and stimulate your transition into Sunday afternoon.

Howdy! When was the last time you listened to an hour of radio and only hear the voices of women-identified people? You'll have that opportunity this Sunday, from 5-6pm, on WXYC Reports. This month's show is called Bechdel Test and it features back to back stories united by the fact they are told by and about women, even when they concern a man. Tune In!

From 9-10PM listen up (and participate!) on Sports Rap while Ryan, Reilly, and friends discuss things like the ongoing college basketball tournaments, professional basketball, and the best way to refer to an actual basketball (spoiler alert: the answer is "pumpkin").  Other topics are sure to come up on the only local sports/talk radio show that isn't afraid to ask the question: "Is ShoeNice an athlete?".  As always, you can influence the show all you like by tweeting @dunksbutts! Slamma Jamma!

This Wednesday, 9-10 pm, the UNC Center for Asian Studies' Afroz Taj and John Caldwell will be dedicating the hour to Sufism and Mysticism on the Global Music Show. Traditions started in the 14th century, the hour will feature the music and poems of several regions, cultures, and religions. Be ready to hear many different histories and languages, including Hindi, Arabic, Urdu and more!
