Boy it’s hot!  Just found out Tim Duncan likes playing Dungeons and Dragons and attending renaissance fairs.  Let’s watch some basketball and see what’s coming up on this week on the radio:

Tonight at 9 PM on the Inside Track is Femi Kuti’s new release No Place For My Dream.  Femi Kuti is the oldest son of Nigerian Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti, but his music is mostly his own.  Standout characteristics on this new records are Kuti’s tenor voice, ferocious double-drumming rhythms, and an exhilaratingly tight backing band.  This powerful protest-album brings up the issues of poverty and corruption that are continually affecting his home country of Nigeria.  Tune in for a great new record!

This week on Hell or High Water, Gina B will be playing the 2007 release Songs Uv Dee Gullah Pee'puls by the Gullah Kinfolk. As always, by choosing the strangest-named releases possible, Gina has found an overlooked gem!  Although sometimes these gems are not for every taste, this release is actually really good, and features Gullah spiritual music and stories.  The Gullah are descendants of slaves who live in SC and Georgia and speak English-based creole.  The Gullah Kinfolk were formed in Beaufort, South Carolina to preserve Gullah history and dialect.

This Sundy's Broken Music will feature some of the many great works of Irish composer/jazz drummer/electronics improviser/performance artist Roger Doyle. After starting the avant-garde music theater collective Opearting Theatre in 1980, Doyle went on to study at both the Royal Irish Academy of Music as well as the Finnish Radio Experimental Music Studio. Tune in from 2pm-3pm to listen to a brief but enjoyable introduction to Doyle's music of the past 40 years.

Enter the Cosmos this week on the Backyard BBQ at 8 PM, as Harrison hosts local electronics act Sagan Youth Boys.  Tune in for a performance and interview live from outer space via satellite communication.  You can look forward to spacey dub rhythms, laser noises, and the future itself.

Don’t touch that dial!  Next up at 9 PM we return to Earth with the hosts of Sports Rap.  Catch up with our sports-experts about this week’s happenings in athletics.  NBA Finals.

Monday Night’s got the Outside Track at 9 PM.  Tune in for a new release from jazz crew Rara Avis.  Fronted by the very-talented Chicago saxophonist extraordinaire Ken Vandermark.  Vandermark is backed here by a recently assembled army of Italian improvisers on the soprano saxophone, piano, double bass and electronics.  This release boasts a beautiful and focused set of engaging improvisation that showcase each member’s ability to make a lot of noise on the fly.

This Wednesday from 9-10 PM Should Does Does Radio will be exploring the outer reaches of time, space, and art. Be sure to bring a spacesuit and/or diving suit as we delve into topics as diverse as Catholicism, love poems, and the Spurs-Heat series. How are they related? Tune in and find out!
