Well, now that it's baseball season here in Chapel Hill, I guess it's...I'm just kidding. Nobody cares about baseball in Chapel Hill. I guess this means you have more time to listen to radio stations that aren't 99.9 THE FAN now. Well, onto the good stuff. INCLUDING A NEW SPECIALTY SHOW Sunday at 10pm featuring UNC's own online literary and arts magazine www.shoulddoes.com

Tonight (Friday) at 9pm on the Inside Track tune in for the new album 'Confrontations' on everybody's favorite double-negative-wielding label Not Not Fun*. Umberto is the solo project of Kansas City's Matt Hill, and it's pretty spooky stuff, in a fun-loving way. If you ever got mad that you had to choose between listening to 70s horror flick soundtracks and Italo-Disco, look no further than this album.

Then at 10PM the NSE goes "heavy contact" again with Mike S hosting as DJs Dirty Gypsy and Hennesey run the decks. Special guest DJ Miss Behave will be bringing the massive drum 'n' bass sounds.

Sunday at 1pm on Hell or High Water, James F will air a 1977 broadcast of the "Merry-Go-Round" radio show on WPAQ-Mount Airy, featuring performers Melvin Slaydon and Vernon Smith.

Stay tuned at 2pm for this week's Broken Music, which will feature pieces from the most recent works of Brighton-based experimental musician Dylan Nyoukis. We will hear excerpts from 2-4 different projects from late 2012 through early 2013 that feature Nyoukis (and in a few instances his duo Blood Stereo featuring his wife Karen Constance) mercilessly torturing listeners with manipulated vocals, cello, electronics, electric guitar and reel-to-reel tapes as well as some seriously demented sound collage work.

On this week's Sportsrap, the panel returns from the holiday to wrap up the UNC basketball season; how did the season stack up, and what's in store for the heels to come in the immediate/distant future. Also this week, a final four preview, MLB opening weekend and potentially some NBA. So put mad men on mute and listen to Sportsrap.

This Sunday from 10 PM to midnight listen in as Should Does does radio! Should Does is an online Chapel Hill-based literary and arts magazine which will print anything, provided it's great. On Sunday listen as their staffers read original work, interview intriguing folks, and drop knowledge of the human condition.

Monday on the Outside Track at 9pm, tune in for the Mind Over Mirrors album 'Check Your Swings' on Hands in the Dark. Check Your Swing is the 3rd LP in a little over a year for Mind Over Mirrors, aka Jaime Fennely. Fans of Zomes will love the repetitive, droning ecstasies that Fennely creates with harmonium, tape delays, oscillators and synths - a record that pulsates with astral energy.

Go Pack!
JJ

* NO for the last time, Double Negative is NOT on Not Not Fun.
