Summer Jamz has come and gone, but WXYC's specialty programming is 4ever. You. Us. Tonight. 9pm. Inside Track. Plant and See - S/T (Paradise of Bachelors). Newly-reissued 1969 album by Plant and See, a soulful psych-rock band from Robeson County, NC, led by the great Lumbee guitarist/songwriter Willie Lowery (RIP). It's filled with beautiful vocal harmonies and badass guitar solos, as well as the country, blues and gospel influences that make it a true North Carolina masterpiece.

We take no responsibility for what happens on Saturday, but can assure you that by the time you make it to Sunday, the stars have aligned in such a way as to guarantee that on the Orange County Special at 10a, James F will feature music from the great state of Louisiana: Cajun, Zydeco, Country, Blues, R&B, Swamp Pop and more. At 2pm, Broken Music explores works that draw on the ideas of psychoacoustics, recordings that exploit the way the ear perceives sound. We will listen to early works like the the sound localization experiments of Alvin Lucier and the inner ear music of Marianne Amacher, as well as recent entries from Florian Hecker, Marcus Schmickler and others. It will be an hour not for the timid of ear, but don't let this warning scare you away! If you go too far, you'll miss SportsRap! at 9pm, when the panel goes over Wimbledon, the NBA Free Agency & UFC 148, Silva-Sonnen II (Kyle predicts Silva KO in 3). Also starting this week, SportsRap begins its weekly debate series, in which the panel argues over some of the most heated topics in sports. This week, the panel debates the NFL's top QB, the NBA's top PG.

Keep around for Monday when The Inside Track returns with the debut album from The Home of Easy Credit - S/T (Northern Spy). The Home of Easy Credit is the husband-wife duo of Louise D.E. Jensen (sax/flute/electronics) and Tom Blancarte (double bass), whose music falls "somewhere between Colin Stetson's layered brass sound and Charalambides's free-folk".

And I know this is more long-term, but remember to cheer for America in the olympics!
JJ
