The Commissioner of WXYC would like to thank all of its fans for their unwavering support during this highly exciting summer-shortened season.

Last night (Friday) at 9pm, the music department would selected Lingling Yu & Guo Gan - Yue Luo (Felmay) as its Inside Track. Tune in for a series of duets from two masters of traditional Chinese music. Lingling Yu plays the pipa, a four stringed Chinese lute that produces beautiful overtones. And Guo Gan plays the erhu, a two-stringed spike fiddle known for its ability to imitate the human voice. Sorry for the delayed messaging, and hope you enjoyed it!

Then, on Sunday, it's the first Sunday of the month. You know what means! Tune in at 10a on the Orange County Special for Jane DW's monthly block. Then at 1p on Hell or High Water James F continues his exploration of WPAQ's "Merry-Go-Round" radio show with a recording of Surry County old-time music legend Fred Cockerham and his band, the Virginia-Carolina Boys, recorded live in June, 1967. And after several weeks of extra-themed programming, the Backyard BBQ is going to just spin some local records at 8. Enjoy the lack of sports puns while you can, because on SportsRap, the panel wraps up the NBA DRAFT, analyzing where the Tar Heels go, along with analyzing the BCS's new proposed playoffs and its affect on the college football landscape. If time permits, they'll even talk about soccer! Speaking of European things, on the TJ W brings a mix of new and classic house, techno, and bass music, then we'll have a live PA by dj yugen. Bwup! Speaking of European stuff, on the NSE at10p, TJ W brings a mix of new and classic house, techno, and bass music, then we'll have a live PA by dj yugen. Bwup!

On Monday, the Inside Track is back at 9p with Andrew Lamb - Rhapsody in Black (No Business). American jazz musician Andrew Lamb's new album is a great combination of post bop, free jazz and traditional African music. He plays sax, flute, clarinet and conch shell, and is joined by bassist/didjeridoo-ist Tom Abbs and percussionists Michael Wimberly and Guillermo E. Brown.

Finally, tune in Wenesday at 9 when music director James F opens the mail live on air. If you're lucky, he'll play what he finds, too. But hey, 60 minutes of soothing envelope sounds is better than being traded to Cleveland!
