MENTAL ILLNESS AND MUSICIANS on the Thursday Night Feature, Thursday 9 p.m. to midnight
Tune in as we take a look at the theme of mental illness and insanity through the work of afflicted musicians.

BLACK TAJ- S/T on the Inside Track, Wednesday 9 p.m.
Formed out of the ashes of local heroes Polvo and featuring 2/3 of eastern-tinged backwoods droners Idyll Swords, Black Taj offers up a brand new set of riff-heavy gems, rife with swirling, dueling electric guitars and abounding fuzz, reconciling the members' previous efforts with the gods of classic rock.

TOMMY PELTIER- CHARIOTS OF ASTRAL LIGHT on the Inside Track, Friday 9 p.m.
In 1970, due partially to an injury from a car accident, Roland Kirk sideman Tommy Peltier put down his trumpet permanently and picked up a guitar. He called on his friend Judee Sill, LA quasi-mystic and heroin junkie, and teamed up to record a set of oddball folk-rock in the vein of the Fugs, Pearls Before Swine and possibly Red Krayola. Released in a small run back then, Oakland label Black Beauty now makes it available to a wider audience, and among the slew of obscure folk-rock releases of the past few months (Simon Finn, Gary Higgins, Bill Fay etc), Chariots of Astral Light holds its own.

HYMN-SINGING CONVENTIONS on Hell or High Water, Sunday 1 p.m.
This week's Hell or High Water focuses on various hymn-singing conventions, including Primitive Baptist, white and African-American shape-note singing, and gospel.

SUNROOF!- SILVER BEAR MIST (VHF RECORDS) on Broken Music, Sunday 2 p.m.
This week on Broken Music we'll listen to various selections from the new two-disc set of electronic noise by British experimenter Sunroof!, aka Matthew Bower. Silver Bear Mist is his 5th overall release, and it features more his tried and true explorations in the land of feedback, riding the ways of drone and distortion for both beautiful and chaotic results.
