SMOKES AND SKIRTS on the Thursday Night Feature, Thursday, 9 p.m. to midnight
Tune in as we explore the music and lifestyles of Berlin and Paris cabarets of the early twentieth century, featuring dark and cheap Weimar coffee and cigarettes, gender baits-and-switch, and the vocal hauntings of Marlene Dietrich, Mistinguett, Edith Piaf, Blandine Ebinger, and Miss Lotte Lenya, among others.

THE BENTONIA SCHOOL on Hell or High Water, Sunday, 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
This week's show will feature music by Skip James and Jack Owens, two of the foremost exponents of the "Bentonia School" of blues. Authorities differ as to whether the style of blues performed by James, Owens, and other guitarist-singers from the Bentonia-Yazoo City region in west-central Mississippi -- characterized by intricate, florid fingerpicking and high tenor and falsetto singing -- is either stylistically cohesive enough or sufficiently distinct from other blues styles to be considered a discrete musical idiom. Despite this disagreement, the Bentonia area has indisputably produced its share of imaginative blues musicians. Additionally, this week's program will showcase musical observances of Easter.

EYES TO SPACE on the Backyard Barbeque, Sunday, 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. Keyboard-toting local rock outfit Eyes To Space joins Kirby this Sunday for an interview regarding their music and forthcoming EP, plus lots of fun.
