BAGPIPE BONANZA on the Thursday Night Feature, Tonight, 9 p.m. to midnight Tune in tonight as we celebrate that prince of instruments, the bagpipes. We'll explore the pipes in their traditional context, sporting a decidedly Scottish flavor, as well as its use in other genres of music (including rock 'n' roll and possibly free jazz!) You can expect to hear lots of Tannahill Weavers (including early work with Alan MacLeod), Battlefield Band, Ossian, and Rare Air, plus some AC/DC and Dropkick Murphys. In other words, if you hate bagpipes, make sure your radio is NOT tuned to 89.3 FM between 9 p.m. and midnight.

FOLK REVIVAL REINVENTIONS on Hell or High Water, Sunday, 1 to 2 p.m.
This Sunday's show will focus on five musicians whose careers were first obscured by misfortune (such as the Depression or other unforeseen circumstances) then reinvented during the folk revival of the 1950s and 1960s. Featuring Mississippi John Hurt, Dock Boggs, Lightnin' Hopkins, Ernest Stoneman, and Clarence Ashley, this week's program will showcase songs recorded before and after their respective "revivals."
