ALABAMA BROTHER DUETS on Hell or High Water, Sunday 1-2 p.m.
This week we will examine Alabama's rich contribution to country music's
brother-duet tradition, spotlighting the work of three important groups:
the Stripling, Delmore, and Louvin Brothers. Champion fiddler Charlie
Stripling recorded some 40 fiddle-guitar duets with his brother Ira during
the 1920s and 30s; his sons, Robert and Lee, accompanied him in
performances throughout the 30s, eventually forming a brother duet of
their own (we'll also hear from them). Also during the 30s, the Delmore
Brothers rose to prominence as pioneers of a soft, twin-guitar-backed
"brother-style" harmony, which in the 40s evolved into a bluesy "hillbilly
boogie." They were followed by the Louvins, perhaps the best-known of all
brother groups.

JOHNSTON CENTER MULTIMEDIA FESTIVAL PARTICIPANTS on In Step With Tepp,
Sunday 5-6 p.m.
Join Student Body President Matt Tepper as he talks with student and
community participants in the second annual Johnston Center Multimedia
Festival, which features cutting-edge multimedia projects created by over
175 UNC undergraduate students. The festival is open to the public from
February 27 until March 5 in Room 039 of the Graham Memorial Building on
the UNC campus.

UNC JAZZ FESTIVAL on the Sunday Surprise!, Sunday 6-8 p.m.

Jazz Festival taking place on the UNC campus February 21-28. The festival
celebrates the American Popular Song and will feature guest artists like
