An ace collection of archival material from this Mississippi porch
bluesman, recorded in 1967 by George Mitchell and witnessing Callicot
playing and singing gracefully in his twilight years. Out on Fat Possum.

HIP-HOP SAMPLES on the Thursday Night Feature, Thursday 9 p.m.-midnight.
This week we'll feature songs used as samples in hip-hop, from the obvious
to the obscure.

Various Artists, "POP! POP! PIGALLE!" on the Inside Track, Friday 9 p.m.
Wild and frenzied French pop from the '60s and early '70s, including
tracks by international faves like Sylvie Vartan, France Gall and Dick
Rivers. Get happy already!

JOHN FAHEY, "Yellow Princess" on the Classic Inside Track, Sunday 2 p.m.
Slow, building melodies mark this classic John Fahey album, an excellent
introduction to the famed folk guitarist's work. Released on Vanguard
Records in 1969.

CHATHAM COUNTY LINE's new self-titled album on the Inside Track, Monday 9
p.m.
Ultra-trad bluegrass from our own backyard! This Raleigh quartet picks,
chops, bows and thumps just like the old-timers did it. Out on Bonfire
Records of Graham.
