WXYC 89.3 FM - in Chapel Hill and live on the Web at www.wxyc.org

Schedule in brief, scroll down for details:
Friday 9 p.m.: CALLA, "Televise" on the Inside Track
Sunday 2-3 p.m.: BEE GEES, "Odessa" on the Classic Inside Track
Sunday 7-8 p.m.: GO*MACHINE on the Backyard BBQ
Monday 9 p.m.: NORTH ELEMENTARY, "Out of Phase" on the Inside Track

CALLA, "Televise" on the Inside Track, Friday 9 p.m.
The third album by this Brooklyn combo is a spacious, delicate,
lonesome, dynamics-encompassing one, recalling variously the similar
doings of Godspeed You Black Emperor!, Calexico, Giant Sand, and Nick
Cave. It's out on the Arena Rock Recording Co. Witness them mope it out
at the Cat's Cradle, Sunday, Feb 2 with Luna.

BEE GEES, "Odessa" on the Classic Inside Track, Sunday 2-3 p.m.
This week's CIT will feature the Bee Gees' "Odessa," in honor of the
late Maurice Gibbs. Take a look at former WXYC DJ Mike West's
wonderful review of the album online at
http://www.epinions.com/content_71661031044

GO*MACHINE on the Backyard BBQ, Sunday 7-8 p.m.
Go*Machine will be kicking into gear on the Backyard BBQ. We'll analyze
their design, and try to learn what makes them tick. Anticipate a live
performance, which will include guitar and a violin--plus, I'll bet they
bring the thumb piano and maybe I can even get 'em to bring in their
theremin! They're also bringing some exclusive, previously unreleased
tunes on CD. As for genre/style, their "objective" is to play music
that makes people move, feel, and think. Catch them live this Sunday
on the BBQ and at their upcoming show at Local 506 on Thursday the 13th.

NORTH ELEMENTARY, "Out of Phase" on the Inside Track, Monday 9 p.m.
Debut outing for this exciting new local band, featuring the core of the
original Comas. Pristine, laid back melodic pop - the perfect remedy
for the Monday Evening Blues. On Sit-n-Spin Records. They will be
opening for Apples in Stereo at the Cat's Cradle, Tuesday, Feb. 4,
probably with visuals and jousting nuns in tow. Don't miss it!
