Various Artists, "THE MEN FROM O.R.G.A.N." on the Inside Track, Friday 9
p.m.
The follow-up to the S.H.A.D.O. imprint's excellent V/A Harpsichord 2000
disc, this collection celebrates the organ as an instrument of mid-'70s
international grooviness. While it's mostly new recordings (the line-up
includes the Clientele, High Llamas and Pram), there're a couple vintage
ditties that'll show you why paying homage to the organ is a worthy
exercise. Now-sound from today, and you'll like it.

Gospel from the GOLDEN ECHOES on Hell or High Water, Sunday 1-2 p.m.
This Sunday Hell or High Water will feature early '70s recordings
from UNC's Southern Folklife Collection of the Franklinton, NC gospel
group the Golden Echoes. The long-lasting group featured the musical
talents of the local Landis family, and they were the subject of an early
'80s documentary film produced by UNC folklore students and instructors
called "A Singing Stream."

THE GLOVE, "Blue Sunshine" on the Classic Inside Track, Sunday 2-3 p.m.
This week's CIT features "Blue Sunshine" by the Glove, a one-off project
from Steve Severin of Siouxsie & the Banshees, Robert Smith of the Cure
and a small cast of friends. Recorded & insprired by a series of serious
'60s-era films and psycho-active mushrooms, the pair created their own
psychedelic daydreams and put it all down on tape. One of the best things
either one ever made; a few rare tidbits will be added as well.

NC VOTER IRREGULARITIES on Northern Hemisphere Live, Sunday 5-7 pm.
Join your host Nolan for a discussion of voter irregularities in our fair
state. Listeners are invited to call in and participate.

MC TRACHIOTOMY, "W/ Love from Tahiti" on the Inside Track, Monday 9 p.m.
Like a bent windpipe, this new recording from Bulb recording artist/New
Orleans hi-roller MC Trachiotomy will have you feeling wheezy, whirlwind
and wicked. It's fashioned out of homemade beats and tape collage and is
intermingled with the man's own gutturally-delivered non-sensical
ephemera. Demented "hip-hop" to think about, but you'll feel it first in
your throat, we imagine.

Also this week and every week:
-THE INSIDE TRACK: a new release played in full Monday, Wednesday and
Friday, 9 p.m.
