Tony, Caro and John.

WXYC ANNIVERSARY SERIES, 1987-1992 on the Thursday Night Feature, Thursday
9 p.m.-midnight
This week on the Thursday Night Feature, we'll present the third
installment of a continuing series that commemorates WXYC's 25th
anniversary. This week's feature is devoted to the years 1987-1992. WXYC
alumni from that era will be in the studio to spin the tunes they used to
spin, and reminisce about what WXYC, Chapel Hill, and music in general was
like back before the "Next Seattle" craze.

Various Artists, "Rock On: Greatest Hits from the Observer Label" on the
Inside Track, Friday 9 p.m.
A hit-filled collection from producer Winston "Niney" Holness's Observer
label, including '70s and early '80s tracks by artists like Dennis Brown,
Michael Rose, Gregory Isaacs, Delroy Wilson, and Ken Boothe. While most
other collections of Observer material focus on the label's more obscure
releases, "Rock On" collects the hits, many on CD for the first time. Also
included are extended mixes as well as dancehall favorites and a few
previously unreleased tracks.

LARRY WILLIAMS, "The Larry Williams Show" on the Classic Inside Track,
Sunday 2-3 p.m.
This week's CIT features Larry Williams' 1965 classic "The Larry
Williams Show." Joined by Johnny 'Guitar' Watson, Williams recorded a
string of hits for Specialty Records in the late '50s and early '60s.
This album, recorded for the Decca label in its London studio,
features Johnny as well as the Stormsville Shakers. Williams' rock n'
roll classics have been covered by everyone from the Beatles to Diana
Ross to The Jam.

Timely topics with TODD & YONNI on Northern Hemisphere Live, Sunday 5-7
pm.
This Sunday NHL's Todd and Yonni will host an open show with sundry topics
relating to the current events of the day. Listeners are invited to call
in and participat

Various Artists, "Africa Raps" on the Inside Track, Monday 9 p.m.
German label Trikont presents a landmark collection of West African
rap. MCs from Senegal, Gambia and Mali use the genre primarily as a
platform for social commentary, incorporating both contemporary hip-hop
production and the region's native kora music into their work.
