THURSDAY NIGHT FEATURE, Thursday 9 p.m.-12 a.m.
"Quotes, Rips & Echoes" -- Hosts David and Barry will explore musical
copycats, playing songs that quote other songs musically, blatantly rip
other songs off, or just bear uncanny resemblances to each other.

CLASSIC INSIDE TRACK, Sunday 2-3 p.m.
This week on the Classic Inside Track it's "Together Forever: The Greatest
Hits" by seminal hip-hop trio Run DMC. Breaking from the dance-oriented
rap of the late seventies and early eighties, Run DMC's raw, hard-edged
sound paved the way for both the political and gangsta rap movements. Run
DMC was also one of the first hip hop groups to cross over to the pop
charts and enjoy mainstream success. Check 'em out this Sunday from 2-3.

NORTHERN HEMISPHERE LIVE, Sunday 5-7 p.m.
Host Todd will be discussing what it means to be an American, especially
in
the wake of the events of September 11. Listeners are invited to call in
and participate.

Also this week and every week:
-THE INSIDE TRACK: a new release played in full Monday, Wednesday and
Friday, 9 p.m.
-ORANGE COUNTY SPECIAL: folk music of all countries and cultures Sunday 10
a.m.-1 p.m
-HELL OR HIGH WATER: music from UNC's Southern Folklife Collection Sunday
1-2 p.m.
-BROKEN MUSIC: longer, more "difficult" pieces Sunday 3-4 p.m.
-MAKING CONTACT and COUNTERSPIN: news programs from F.A.I.R. (Fairness and
Accuracy In Reporting) Sunday 4-5 p.m.
-BACKYARD BARBEQUE: North Carolina music culled from the fresh produce of
CDs and singles from Chapel Hill's finest, as well as older records from
NC bands of the past, Sunday 7-8 p.m.
-THE NEW MUSIC SHOW: spotlight on new releases right out of the mail bin,
Sunday 8-9 p.m.
