-----This Thursday, July 19th, tune in from 9pm to midnight as WXYC's
Thursday Night Feature focuses on the music of the Fall. Championed by
critics and worshipped by cultish fans, the Fall has had a long and
chaotic lifespan, releasing at least forty albums in 23 years. Over
this period the only constant has been irascible founder Mark E Smith.
Smith's elliptical lyrics and uncompromising approach have made the
group both admired and reviled, but many of their albums are
considered classic.
What effect has the Fall had on the state of music today? Who is this
Brix person? What's he mumbling about? Join us as we examine the
Fall's history, influences, contemporaries, and key players on albums
from 1979's "Live at the Witch Trials" to 2001's "The Unutterable."
That's WXYC's Thursday Night Feature on the Fall, this Thursday, July
19th, from 9pm to midnight.----
