TREQ-NM folks,
The web homepage of the New Mexico DOT BPE program has been updated,
now that our new BPE Coordinator Tom Trowbridge is in the saddle.
http://www.nmshtd.state.nm.us/main.asp?secid=11190
One thing the page lacks is a photo of an equestrian user. A good
photo would show a horse and rider somewhere on pavement. Maybe the
Paseo del Bosque Trail in the ABQ metro area? Or a trail / highway
intersection? How about horse riders using one of the underpasses
with those bright turquoise top rails built under NM 599 (Santa Fe
Bypass)? Or, riders using the equestrian traffic signal button on
US 285 to get from Eldorado to the Eldorado Wilderness Area? Or,
riders on the Santa Fe Rail Trail (preferably with one of the train
trestles in view, or even the train itself)?
Do you have photos like that? If not, how about going out on a photo
shoot? The objective would be to get photos of horses in a context
that relates to the goals of the BPE Program. Some could be used to
illustrate the Trail News column in The Horsemen's Voice, to help the
BPE Program, and maybe also to illustrate articles on Wikipedia and
Wikitravel.
