Hello TCRP news list,

Contributors to the Tompkins County Relocalization Project held
their first meeting last week at the Old Jail in Ithaca. Thanks
are due to the County for use of the room.

The slides attached constitute a record of the meeting. This is
the first time that we've tried to send an attachment to the news
list, so please forgive any necessary troubleshooting that may
result from this message.

The kickoff meeting was for content contributors only. Under the
terms of reference for this project (see ibiblio.org/tcrp for a
link), the people listed below are now the collective owners of
the TCRP going forward:

Jon Bosak (chair)
Judy Cone
Josh Dolan
Meredith Graham
Marty Hiller
Jen Maffett
Ed Mikula
Matt Miller
Terry Moore
Kathleen Quinn-Jacobs
Bethany Schroeder
Simon St.Laurent

As noted in the minutes, we're guessing at this point that the
project will take about two years to finish. For the next couple
of months, we will be continuing to look for people with research
and writing experience to join the group as contributors. Please
send mail to the TCRP chair (bosak AT ibiblio.org) if you are
interested or know someone who might be. Feel free to forward
this message as appropriate, and remember that this news list is
publicly subscribable at

http://lists.ibiblio.org/mailman/listinfo/tcrp-news

Note that the TCRP is a tightly focused collaborative authoring
project and not a discussion group or general interest group.
People interested in finding out more about local sustainability
and contributing to current efforts in the area are urged to join
one of the excellent existing local initiatives such as
Sustainable Tompkins.

Beginning early next year, we intend to start giving presentations
to local sustainability groups to explain the objectives of the
TCRP and request their input. Please contact bosak AT ibiblio.org to
arrange for a presentation if you are associated with a group that
might like to know more about this project.

Jon Bosak
Chair, TCRP
