I don't know elvis much, but I believe that for install and rescue it's
more than enough. But _I think_ that everyone who likes vi-like editing
installs vim as one of first things, I would replace elvis with vim
completely, since the only advantage it has is that it's a bit smaller
(afaik). 0.86M versus 2.29M

Yes

Optional dependencies are only other languages which vim can interpret
then, personally I never saw script which would need them. So it's ok.

Theese are only my feelings ofcourse, don't wanna start editor flamewar
