Hi,

I made 3 new test ISOs available on http://download.sourcemage.org/iso
[1]. Those ISO have been generated with the same set of scripts as the
stable 0.9.3 ISO, with some manual work to add experimental features.
This is also the first x86_64 ISO available.

Those ISOs should correct the following bugs (please verify):

- bug 5645 : the installed system is FHS 2.3 compliant
- bug 6266/7770 : lvm has been compiled with device_mapper support
- bug 7213 : ndiswrapper is on the ISO
- bug 7279 : optional dependency should be handled correctly now
- bug 7385 : no more strange waiting message
- bug 7437 : load modules menu has been restored
- bug 7473 : setup_target is now part of a separate menu item
- bug 7642 : no text in installer menu. should be fixed!
- bug 7789 : basesystem spell is now installed
- bug 7807 : nfs/nfslock has been removed from the ISO
- bug 7813 : /etc/fstab should no longer have TABs
- bug 7865 : timezone chosen during install should be kept
- bug 7869 : SCTP protocol has been added to the default kernel
- bug 7896 : smgl-default-remove-fs should be used
- bug 7947 : mount points should not disapear as expected

Experimental features (we need your feeback on those : do you like it?
do you want them for the next stable release? do they work?)

- evms [2] replaced the LVM & RAID menu. However, your root partition
cannot use this system.

- in order to reduce the ISO size to fit on a mini CD-R (200 MB) and
after studying the compressed fs available, i choose squashfs for those
ISO. So, all ISOs are under the 200MB limit

- SATA drives support has been added to the ISO kernels. Since I
don't have such hardware, I'm looking for reports!

- x86_64 specific : the ISO and the installed system are bi-arch.
This mean that you can run both 32 bits and 64 bits binaries.

- NPTL support : all installed system have NPTL enabled with the
2.6.9 kernel.

Known bugs (no need to report them!):

- bug 7817 : optional spell list doesn't denote what's already opted
- bug 7853 : optional spell list should be pre-generated
- bug 7905 : IDE PNP support do not work
- bug 7925 : there is no 2.4 kernel
- bug 7939 : bash is still used on the initrd
- bug 7945 : there is no background work
- bug 7979 : installation destination size is not checked
- bug 7999 : ide-generic/ide-cd modules not found

I'm sure i'm forgetting some bugs since I was not able to test all of
them (lack of hardware, ...).

Reports are welcome on sm-discuss. Bugs are welcome on bugzilla
[3]. Could it be possible to "0.9.4-test2" in the version field of our
bugzilla so that people can report bugs on thoses ISOs?
