This list is pretty quiet but it's still here. I have Chinese Red Noodle Bean to trade if anyone is interested. I would like to trade for any other heirloom pole bean, Kentucky Wonder, Dragon's Tongue, McCaslan would be first choices. The Red Noodle Bean does well in the Texas heat and my other beans plantings this year are struggling from too much rain, so I would welcome a chance to try other beans.
Wow, we'd love some more rain up near the panhandle. ;-)
I'm actually doing a trial of yard-long type beans this year. There's a long story about why I have 7 different packs of them I won't bore you with *laugh*. One of them purports to be red noodle and I suspect at least one more that doesn't claim to be is too. ;-)
I'm looking for drylands type beans that I don't already have. I have blue speckled tepary and mitla black tapary. I'm also looking for Tagasaste bush seeds, and Winter Luxury pumpkin seed.
I don't have any beans that are fresh enough to trade right off the bat except speckled Calico lima beans (pole and not too many of those).
I have scarlet emperor beans (pole) supposed to be here the end of next week. I only need about 30 of the half pound I ordered.
I also bought some beans from a company that sells them for eating but also claims they will sprout. Those are also due to arrive at the end of next week. I'll be happy to trade some of those if anyone wants to. I have no idea if most of them are pole or bush at this point. I ordered them because they were supposed to taste good or were pretty and figured I'd research them once I got them and tried my own taste test. I'll be getting:
Adzuki
Anasazi
Brown rice beans
Butterscotch
Christmas lima (I know these are a pole)
Eye of the goat
Flageolet
Flor de mayo
Green rice beans
Jackson Wonder (I'm pretty sure these are bush)
Mayflower
Marrone Bell Peas bean
Pebble
pigeon peas (Cajanus cajan, 3-4 ft tall bush, perennial in warm climates. Not at all frost tolerant, so grown as a perennial like peppers here. I'm not sure what kind I'll be getting, then again, seed companies don't tell me what kind they have either, so it's a wait and see proposition)
Peruano
Red calypso
rice bean
rio zappe
snowcap
Spanish Tolosna
Yellow Indian Woman
monk peas
I'm open to stuff I didn't list if anyone is hot to get some of what I do have (assuming you're willing to wait until I have it) I can do germination tests on the beans, but that'll take another week or two after I get them. I'm a sucker for winter squash and pumpkins, but I have a lot of them. Just haven't been diligent about saving seeds. I have a much better place to garden now, so I'm hoping that will change in the next couple of years.
