Climate change, global warming, pollution, drought, worse weather patterns - what does the future hold?

I was thinking about it tonight and it ocurred to me that global warming started in a noticeable way nearly thirty years ago, maybe before that, with significant increases in heat waves and violent weather events
(hurricanes, wildfires and flooding). So, it is real that the Earth is warming up or is it my imagination? I remember much colder temperatures that lasted longer during winter decades ago,
drifts of snow and ice remaining on the streets for weeks and now we have the  hottest temperatures on record with this summer worse than last..
