I think the system described in the article would be less expensive when
scaled up for industrial production (at least I imagine that is what the
researchers had in mind), less expensive to operate and maintain quality
control. Keeping a solar condensation unit sanitary so the water was
potable without added purification would be an issue as I see it.

In addition I would like to say that dehumidifiers collect water, why not

Air conditioning is very expensive to operate. Small electric fans close by
and plenty of living space airflow are better options
for many.
