If you send me the most recent version of Dan's list in the Excel format or Google Doc, then I will work with that and can get it back to you tomorrow PM along with some additional written material regarding planting. pollination, and propagation. Bryce

Thank you all who replied for looking into this. I found it so weird that I
passed it on in the hope that someone would be able to investigate further.
As a possible explanation in the first video chemtrails were mentioned but I
thought it unlikely that they would remain in the atmosphere for so long or
that any fool would be spraying in extreme cold weather.
I think the debunking article is probably closest to the truth. It is very
light snow that forms when medium or low humidity in the air meets extreme
low temperatures. I am not used to that here. We have nearly almost close to
100% relative air humidity and thus heavy snow.
And that is the thing to watch out for. Snow should be collected by weight
and not by volume. That way a kilo of snow should give you a liter of water
when melted. If it resulted in much more or much less water then something
fishy would be going on.
John
A quick search gives some alternate (more believable) explanations:
https://www.metabunk.org/threads/debunked-fake-snow-burning-snow.3026/
(excerpt)
What's happening here is:
A) The snow *is* melting, but the very loose fluffy structure of the
snow *wicks
away* the water, turning dry snow into wet snow, and eventually turning
the
snow into *slush*.
B) The snow is blackened when a lighter is held underneath it because of
the *soot from the lighter *(the products of incomplete combustion). It's
*not burning. *
C) The smell is *fumes from the lighter* (also from incomplete combustion)
and/or people briefly *burning nearby objects like gloves*.

most beautiful snow. I was surprised when I went to work that the road
was
still completely white, but thought it was because it was not heavily
traveled. It's been cold, so I didn't expect it to melt very fast, but
today it warmed up and the snow is nearly gone. So, it is melting in
nature.
Having seen this video, I just went outside and gathered up a little bit
of
what was left and brought it in to do this experiment. I did get water,
but very little. And I noticed it didn't respond to the flame of a match
the way I expected it to. Some crystals just stayed put.
I don't want to be an alarmist, or chicken little, but I do want to know
how someone, or some group, could make snow out of ? that looks so
authentic. I wouldn't eat this snow, that's for sure.
Yes, full disclosure would be a good thing.

According to literature the main species for forest gardens that have
supported whole villages for centuries -both in Sardinia and in
Switzerland- is the chestnut. 7 trees support a family they said (or
was it 7 trees per person? would have to read up on this old research
paper...), having had different varieties for different puropses, some
for fresh eating, some for storage in wet sand in the shade under a
roof, some for drying (and grinding them later to cook a kind of
porridge), some for sweet preserves, some to feed the goats with both
leaves and fruit, and propably some for timber production (and fruits
for goats and swine, I guess). I am afraid we have lost the varieties
a while ago...

George...there is a young quite brilliant Permaculturist in Eastern France
just a little way SW of Lyon who we have visited on a number of occasions
he has 20 varieties of Chestnut and am sure a good resource for more
knowledge...I'll dig up his contact.
The French network may also have good contact....where are you located ?
Switzerland ?....Steve Hart

Join us for a Permaculture and Agroforestry adventure in the jungle of
Belize this March. Maya Mountain Research Farm is an established
permaculture and agroforestry site. We'll use it as a template to delve
deeper into permaculture design and planning and food forests and
agroforestry.
