To me it makes perfect sense to mount a broad nutritional front for personal nutrition, preventive health, robust health and longevity. Eat as diverse a selection of foods as possible; the ones that work best for you will make themselves known; a long term dietary regimen can evolve this way. This scheme seems to have worked for me. I take little or no vitamins any more, relying almost entirely on food for all my nutritional needs. As for drink, well water and lots of coffee and tea :-)
I wrote about macrobiotic foods before because the traditional Japanese macrobiotic system offers comprehensive dietary plan, providing everything you need. This is certainly a good place to start when a cure or weight loss is needed.
Blending raw foods into this diet may be an even better approach. Following
food combining rules is also important;
I ignore the detractors on this one; read Shelton and Kulvinskas and Wigmore.
Raw foods are live giving.
