Subject: Advanced permaculture courses offered in Southern Oregon


Sacred Earth Institute based in Ashland Oregon is offering two Advanced
Permaculture Courses this summer.

The courses will be taught by Tom Ward and Andy Fischer at a beautiful 75
acre permaculture demonstration site just south of Ashland Oregon.


1) Water Development in Permaculture Systems: This course will include
Yoemans Keyline Plan, Pond Building, Keyline system principals: Keeping
water in the landscape Contours: Reading the land, On the ground: Site
evaluation
Integrating agroforestry systems with keylines
Hands on: Implementing the design
Using a keyline plow to increase soil fertility
Course dates: May 29th to May 31st
Location: Heaven and Earth Farm, Ashland Oregon


2) Forest Garden Design and Multifunctional Hedgerows: This course will
include designing productive and beautiful forest gardens based on ecology
and sustainable traditional systems
Learn to design hedgerows and shelterbelts that create wildlife habitat,
grow fruit and nuts, medicine and fiber
Learn to select plants specific to your forest garden ecology
Learn to integrate paths and borders, nitrogen fixing plants and water
within your design
Learn about plant propagation techniques and sources for forest garden
plants
Learn to design plant guilds that increase your diversity and abundance
Course dates:June 11th to 13th
Location: Heaven and Earth Farm, Ashland Oregon
