I have a really hard time seeing these as mutually exclusive binaries. In my own approach to permaculture with a small "p" creating models of diversity is central & observing nature also includes observing the history of human interactions with nature.

mEIKAL,
I was just trying to point out that within these two systems, diversity would be laid out in a different fashion. In Kinship Gardening, layouts are designed according to taxonomy to exemplify evolutionary relationships and conserve diversity specifically, while Pc designs, in my limited understanding, relate more to symbiotic relationships between plants (and animals) to develop more productive and efficient systems with conservation of diversity as more of a byproduct, albeit an important one.
Does that help?
