***Northern Illinois First Responders: DON'T MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY!***
University of Illinois Fire Service Institute is presenting their Large Animal Rescue Awareness class at Wagner Farm in Glenview on Saturday, November 22 from 1-5 p.m.
Northern Illinois is home to a wide variety of large animals (horses, cattle, pigs, goats, llamas, alpacas, exotics, etc.). However, large animal incidents can occur anywhere at any given moment, including on our roadways, requiring the coordination and cooperation of multiple governmental agencies, non-governmental organizations, equine and large animal veterinarians, and civilians to ensure a swift and safe resolution to the incident.
Attendees will learn how to safely and effectively handle large animals in emergency situations, and how to evaluate their properties for safety and preparedness.
This lively and information-packed presentation designed to provide information to successfully manage a large animal incident is open to all first responders - fire, police, animal control, DNR, forest preserve/conservation district and humane investigators.
