Yes, always. Risk assessment and management is an important part
of the field team leader's job. And one reason why I recommend the
field team leader should *not* be the navigator nor communications
person.
Something I don't like to see is the practice of avoiding anything
risky in training, saving all the risk exposure for real missions.
That is a recipe for disaster.
