I have the same prob. The electic fence does not work so well.

What worked for me this year on my rented ground is 1/2 " rebar 10 footers
every ten ft with the Black 8' deer Netting. Use those plastic zip ties to
attach. This works. You can also put yellow logging tape across the top.

It looks butt ugly but it keeps the deer out.
