We keep a 1 foot length of baling wire tied to our Earthway handle to run through the seed shute each time before using because there are always spider webs there. It's really fast and saves hours of frustration!

Hello. Does anyone have a good resource for those tall black buckets used
to hold flowers sold at market? I seen plenty at the local craft stores but
they are used to hold their dried and fake flowers and not for sale
themselves. Thanks so much georgene blankley (farmer's daughter's
organics)

Looking at the new Johnny's catalog. For a long while, I have been
needing a seeder to plant small seeds in relatively short rows,
10'-100'. I have heard negative reports on Earthways.

Willie,

Well Willie, we have used the Earthway seeder for 5 years now and we really like it. I am not sure of the problems you have heard, but it works great for us. Our rows are on average 60' long and we seed about 6000 sq. ft.

I have had good luck with the Earthways except when the ground is rough
and when the mud dobbers built a nest in one.

Not just mud daubers either, folks. Spiders LOVE to build webs in the seed
drop channel. We always check that the seed is dropping before we use ours.
Paul has gotten really good at taking it apart to clean out the webs. Just
be careful, we have black widows, and the channel is perfect environment for
them.
