Strawberries, southern highbush blueberries and blackberries will do very well and also a lot of perennials. Check the zones given in good perennial catalogs like Wayside to get ideas. You can grow pecans, figs and hardy citrus and all the things that want a long season - melons, etc. Things like green beans you will plant very early and again in late August. Have fun.
