If you need "guaranteed" tomatoes I think the bulk of your crop should be
hybrids. But that does not mean you can not try some heirlooms each year.
My two favorite heirlooms are yellow and red pear shape cherry tomatoes. I
have grown them from saved seeds with success with the yellow being more
prolific than the red. I grew for the first time Green Zebra and they were
prolific and disease resistant. My other few heirlooms not so great. Lots
of blossom end rot and very slow rippening. Beth
