Del,
I replied that while my tomatoes weren't specifically tested, I felt
confident that they did contain Lycopene. And that was just one of many
questions on lycopene. I was interviewed by a staffer from the Village Voice
inquiring about the "Tomato Lobby" and what role do I think fresh vegetables
will play in the fight against GMO Foods. My questions to her was, "Where is
the tomato lobby? What role will fresh vegetables play in any fight?" I was
born and raised in NYC, it's a great place, but a huge diverse group like
that is bound to have a few over-thinkers.
You bring up the subject of food preparation, why do you think that is?
My mother was a housewife and with that luxury, we always had fresh veggies,
(steamed or raw), meat and poultry from the butcher and always prepared the
day of dinner. When I was first married, both me and my wife worked and food
was something we did so we could keep working. I think it's dictated by
tradition, economics, and time. Just a thought. Happy thanksgiving to all!
