Surround:
Robert - This is the product that was demonstrated at the year 200 Mid-Atlantic Biodynamic Food and Farming Conference. It was used on apple trees that year.
My experience with surround is that it is inadequate and inappropriate with a fast growing crop like squash. You'd have to spray every week, for sure, to prevent the possibility of early bacterial contamination by cucumber or squash beetles.
It also needs to be reapplied after rain -or- overhead watering to remain effective.
It's great in trees!
