Here is an on-line "Supermarket Co-op" offering
products from several different cooperatives of low
income people and small farmers in the US and Mexico.

Example: For $35,. you can have a box of the "best
sweet potatoes on earth" grown by a cooperative of
African Americans in Mississippi, plus southern herbs,
pecans, pot holder, and recipes shipped to your door.

Or a peace wreath made from fresh balsam and decorated
with little doves, pine cones, berries, white velvet
ribbon, made by low income families in rural Maine.
$39.95

This is interesting, not only as a place to spend
holiday dollars, but also as an idea generator for
micro-enterprises and cooperatives right here in
Oklahoma. This is a project of the Rural Coaltion,
http://www.ruralco.org/ , which has an office on K
Street in DC.
