I grew up on a tidal river in southern NJ. We trapped and ate blue crab all summer (and froze crabcakes for winter). I love it, but I wouldn't touch it now. Or anything else that filters the water in that whole region.

So if you pay top dollar for real "American" blue crab, this stuff is what they have been filtering. It is tough to know what is safe to eat, anymore

As if that weren't bad enough itself, the cages,
chutes, floors, etc, are all
continually washed with disinfectants, fungicides, and
pesticides.
If a dumptruck full of the stuff showed up free .....
I'd pass.
