Well, I was by myself.  I did not want to call DH home from work. The fever
did come down with aspirin.  I was dehydrated, true, but I was still on
regular bathroom trips.  I decided to just ride it out.

Ironically, I was at the doc's office(rheumatology) Thursday afternoon.  It
was a regular checkup for labs, etc.  I felt great, full of life, so good
that I treated myself by allowing myself to go to an expensive nursery and
buy a bunch of plants.  Anyway, I do take immune suppressing drugs (Enbrel),
and have for 3+ years now. They note every infection and I am pretty well
monitored by two different docs-my GP and my Rheumie.  I have been fighting
sinus and allergy problems for all of 2008(since I stopped smoking).  I've
had to have multiple steroid injections, multiple rounds of antibiotics, and
yet, it seems to always come back on me.  This sinus issue is probably the
most logical cause of the fever, but I could not tell you that my symptoms
were any worse during this period than they have been for months.  I was, and
am, at a sinus level status quo...semi-stuffy...<g>

I have heard that there is a 'letdown' effect that can occur after stressful
periods in one's life.  I think it is caused from a herpes virus.(I know
herpes is a dreaded word-but realize that Herpes is a whole family of
viruses, to include chickenpox(VZV) not just the genital herpes (HSV-2).
Anyway, I had mononucleosis when I was 19 and was diagnosed with Epstein Barr
around that time-they are also Herpes viruses, so I know I got the family in
me...lol) Apparently the virus can lie dormant since childhood and then
re-emerge out of the blue, AFTER a stressful event.  You may recall that I
walked off the job two weeks ago under very stressful circumstances.  Perhaps
after I felt so good Thursday, that released endorphins that had not been
released in a while, and that actually triggered the virus.  Who knows.
For those of a holistic mind, perhaps this episode is one of purging bad
energy.  I don't know.  I am just glad it is over, I think, and that I am
better.

LOL.  Had my neck stiffened, I would have definitely called 911. Besides,
some folks think I already have brain damage.<eg>
Thanks for caring, Bob.

Hell Akka, you've got so much going on if you had gone to a doc that sick ,
you would probably have been hospitalized. The most common cause of what you
describe would be a bacterial infection gone systemic (bladder infection, as
example), but, then you should still be sick, today.

You are not a common patient with all of your variables, You might try this
site:

http://www.wrongdiagnosis.com/sym/fuo.htm

If you can't find your combination of sysptoms there, there are other FUO
site (fever of unknown origin).

I'm sure you will see one of your docs soon, let us know what she thinks, In
the meantime, have a healthy weekend

p.s., by next sat, , even where you live , plan on rain......bobford
