If your truly Southern:
The word "Yankee" is someone who comes to visit and goes home....
A "Damn Yankee" is someone who moves south and does not go home!

Garden Calendar entries:
2/29/08: Ordered four two-year-old blueberry plants from Waters =20
Blueberry Farm, Smithville, MO (http://www.watersblueberryfarm.com/): =20=
2 early-season =93Duke,=94, 1 mid-season =93Bluecrop,=94 and 1 =
late-season =20
=93Elliott=94 priced at $15 each, over $60 gets free shipping.
4/30/08: Three blueberry plants arrived. Planting instructions are =20
"holes fifteen inches deep, twenty inches wide, fill with 1.5 cubic =20
feet of Canadian Sphagnum Peat Moss, mix with 5-7 gallons of water =20
until all peat moss turns dark brown with the consistency of thick =20
mud. Do not put any native soil in or on top of this hole filled with =20=
moist peat moss. Apply fertilizer and mulch as described below."
Did as directed. Getting the peat moss to absorb the water is tedious. =20=
Using a shovel is too much work. Rake worked best. If doing more I =20
think it would be worth using the concrete mixer. Pounded in T-posts =20
and used string to hold plants in position.
Sent the Waters family an e-mail to check their records about the one =20=
plant discrepancy.=
