His pasture watering advice may be good but it cannot be used for house and garden and landscaping design. He uses 3/4 inch plastic roll-pipe.

I am now up to 700 feet of ditch. Am using 1-1/2 inch Schedule 40 PVC for the main and one-inch for the laterals. Valves at each lateral.

I have a letter out to a friend who is a retired forest fire chief regarding rural home fire emergency equipment. I am guessing he will say go for super safety and build as fireproof as possible and plan on getting your valuables out and away as fast as possible. Once these super-dry old houses start burning it is a short time before they are ashes.
