What was your hometown, or incase it is like mine,
what is the nearest town large enough to be on the

It was 7 miles due west of Kahoka, due south of Luray and a bit east and north of Wyconda.

The definitions we were taught in school were: conservatives want (and expect) things to remain the
same. Liberals are ready for change. That of course
is oversimplified, but using that definition, it seems
that conservatives are not ready to change from the
traditional bountiful consumerism that we all grew up
with. Even when facts point to a bleak future they
are confident that some miracle will happen. I think
in previous discussions this has been referred to as
"cornucopia".
Aside from that I see no way it could be lib. vs.
cons.

One thing I have yet to understand is why has it
become another conservative vs. progressive issue? The twin slow
moving train wrecks of Global Warming and Peak Oil will affect us all in
many unforseen ways.
