Now I'm wondering if that tractor we looked at in Ava might have been
built by Landini, too. With all the old names now owned by new names,
the brain boggles.

No, that one was made in Romania. I do not remember the name but I do know that tractor plants in Romania are having troubles. John Deere recently purchased one factory and in building a copy of the John Deer version of the German Duez, also owned by John Deere..

My neighbor has a JD 5203. He does work for us sometimes....nice
tractor, wish I had one. We were talking about tractors and dealers in
town when I mentioned Mahindra. He went off on how crappy Indian
tractors were. I told him IH made some of the Mahindras, but it did no
good. Anyway, when I found the tractordata site a few days ago, I
looked up his JD 5203, and guess what, the darn thing was made in India!
I don't want to tell him his prize tractor was not American...lol....

SISU! (Finnish--There is no single word in English that encompasses
all that sisu means, but it combines the following ideas: guts, pep,
determination, stubbornness, perseverance, hardiness, stamina, go, do,
nerve, spunk, pluck, and grit. It's like "Just Do It!" & "Go for It!")
