Her letter did not travel. Probably a glitch because of too many copied words. Let's try sending this lady's letter again:

Dear Gene,

I am originally from New Zealand and now live in Jersey City at the mouth of the Holland Tunnel leading to New York. My husband and I are planning on moving to East Amwell NJ where we once lived in a 100 year old farmhouse. I am definitely going to pick up the only copy of your book as this time we'll be returning to the country as home/landowners.

I am also writing with another purpose in mind. At the moment I am working for a television show on ABC called Wife Swap. It's not as sordid as it sounds before you hit delete. When the show works it is an interesting social experiment involving two mothers who agree to switch families for a period of two weeks. For the first three days the mothers live by their new family rules, observing they way in which the children are being raised and the relationship that exists between the parents. After those three days, the new mother gets to bring in her own rules which the family abide by. As you can guess, the aim is to pair families who are vastly different in order to see how they cope with the extremes in each other's lifestyles.

We are looking for families to take part in the third season of our show and I was wondering if you knew of anyone personally who is living the kind of lifestyle your book supports. There would need to be two parents and at least one child above the age of five willing to participate. The show takes up a good 12-13 days and at the end a $20,000 honorarium is paid toward lost wages and any additional costs. Having worked as an Associate Producer on this show I can say without a doubt that it is a rollercoaster ride but that said, it is also a wonderful experience.

If you know of anyone in the US who might be interested in taking part in our show please have them email or call me on 212-404-1452 or contact the toll free hotline on 1-800-509-5638.

Thank you again for your website.

Best wishes,

Ila Couch
