I am grateful to Ian Scott for his response, as this constitutes just the
sort of engagement I've been longing to see. (Yes, there have been reviews,
but these do not frequently engage the arguments themselves in a detailed
manner...)

I haven't time this morning to post my own response to Ian's, but I'll try
to do that by tomorrow. Meantime, let me clarify that it was never my
intention to suggest that we should all accept Nanos' work uncritically, or
even agree with most of it. I'd have been happy to see it widely (as long
as it was done charitably!) criticized, as this would help lead us all
forward. It was the silence that frustrated me.

I too hope that Mark will post a response as he's able, but we, at least,
can be talking about this new model for Paul, regardless.
