WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT.
Internationalist Books and Community Center relies on your support to
continue operating a non-profit community safe space for Chapel Hill,
Carrboro, UNC, and beyond.
Please think about actively supporting Internationalist Books. Please
make sure your membership is up-to-date (to renew, visit
internationalistbooks.org click on ?Membership? on the sidebar). Tell
your neighbors, family, and friends. Convince them to be members (or
to renew their membership) and supporters. As you know,
Internationalist Books is a good cause, and it's worth being active
about. So, be extra loud in your support of Internationalist Books!
Independent bookshops, especially those who don't necessarily attempt
to directly mirror Barnes & Noble's business model, are facing a tough
fight. Internationalist Books has survived that battle for 27 years
now, and I don't doubt that we can make it last at least another 27.
Because it's made up of all of your support, both monetarily and
emotionally, Internationalist Books is a great place to be. Let's keep
it up! Thank you very much.

Uniting with the Northside Community NOW
Date: Wednesday, April 16, 2008
Time: 7:00pm - 8:30pm
Location: Bingham 103, UNC Campus
Do you know your neighbors?
Have you heard of the Greenbridge development in the deeply historic
African-American, Northside area of Chapel Hill?
Do you know the history of the street you live on?
Want to learn about injustices and power structures at play right here
in Chapel Hill/Carrboro?
Please join us for Amante pizza, a film screening, and discussion, as
we launch our new organization, UNC-NOW and talk about the effect that
local development projects such as Greenbridge are having on our
neighborhoods.
After that we'll hear remarks from a few people invested in the
Northside community(ies) and open it up for what promises to be a rich
conversation.
Feel free to come for any part or all of the event that you can!
