First off, a big hats off and thank you to all the friends and crazy people
who made our last several gigs a blast!!! The Incriminators Scooter Rally,
Masala Beat Club, and last month's SOLID! gigs were some of the best and
most fun we've had yet, no doubt about it. Thanks so much to 32, the
national scooter club massive, Agent 45, Soul Korea, Local 506, Ringside,
Project Mastana, Go*Machine and many more who let us know why we're doing
all this in the first place.

And we aren't about to stop now, me loverlies...

SOLID! Funk & Soul Party
Saturday, February 7
at RINGSIDE
with DJ Marco + DJ Midnite Cowbwoy
+ the SOLID! gogo girls Nikki & Sarah
doors open at 9:30pm
308 W. Main St. - Durham, NC
919.680.2100

DJ MARCO TOP TEN FOR FEBRUARY
----------------------------------------
Willie Harper: "But I Couldn't"
This is one raw'n'raucous New Orleans juke joint r'n'b stomper with That Big
Beat.

Lowell Fulsom: "I'm a Drifter"
The world's most famous Tramp returns for another round of funky blues.
"You're no Houdini... how would YOU know?"

Bob Seger System: "Ramblin' Gamblin' Man"
First spun by Mia Attack at SOLID! last year, we're bringing back the Silver
Bullet Band Man for another round of garagey hammond soul action.

New Master Sounds: "Can't Hold Me Back"
Heavy heavy hammond organ burner that will have the heads noddin.

Floyd Smith: "Soul Strut"
Contingent on its timely arrival from Atlanta, this 45 is a fun dancefloor
killer that shares its name with one of the best websites ever.

The Honeycone: "Stick-Up"
A catchy funky soul pop classic from this sexy girl trio. Destiny's who?

Smithstonian: "Mississippi Mud"
If you don't come early, you may miss this moody and moving smoked-out
bass'n'drum soul dirge rarity.

Jackie Wilson: "Since You Showed Me How to Be Happy"
Oft-overlooked uptempo northern soul jumper is sure to get the mod set
going.

Bernie Hayes: "Cool Strut"
So you haven't heard enough "It's Your Thing" ripoffs yet? Here's the
remedy, and d--n funky at that.

Lyn Collins: "Things Got To Get Better"
It's smoother than soul sister Marva Whitney's version, but you know Lyn
always brings the funk courtesy the hardest working repeat offender in
showbiz.
