Peter et al:
When looking in a concordance, I noticed not once where the verb KRH is
usually translated as to dig that it could not be translated as to
furnish as in preparing, providing. In many cases, the furnishing is
accomplished by digging, as in wells, but what is communicated is the
furnishing, not necessarily the means by which the furnishing was
accomplished.
Now the answer for Psalm 22:17 may be found in Christopher Heards response
where he mentions in Akkadian there was a very similar verb
is used in medical diagnostic texts to describe illnesses that disfigure the
hands and/or feet. That would make K)R, found also in Amos 8:8,
to mean to disfigurePsalm 22:17 they disfigure my hands and feet and in
Amos 8:8 injustice disfigures everything.
