Happy New Year, everyone. The AIfIA newsletter is
published roughly every other week featuring news about
AIfIA and our partner sites: Boxes and Arrows, IAslash,
and IAwiki.
---- WHAT'S NEW WITH AIFIA -- http://www.aifia.org ----
1) AIfIA CONTENT MANAGEMENT WORKSHOP AT IA SUMMIT

for Information Architects, on February 27, 2004, in
conjunction with the 2004 IA Summit (February 27- 29,

-- BOXES AND ARROWS -- http://www.boxesandarrows.com/
Two good recent articles in the January issue:
1) "Personalization is not Technology: Using Web
Personalization to Promote your Business Goal" -
Personalization, properly implemented, brings focus to
your message and delivers an experience that is
visitor-oriented, quick to inform, and relevant.
Personalization, poorly implemented, complicates the
user experience and orphans content. This article
describes what separates the freshness from the noise.

2) "Designing for Limited Resources" -
When resources are limited, the design must be
optimized to make the best use of all resources. To
account for this complexity, it is important to have a
clear understanding of both sides of the design
equation—what you have to work with and what you are
trying to build.
