i assume that "almost anywhere" actually means "almost anywhere in
australia" - for i highly doubt that a plant that is native to oz (or
pantropic) will survive the average winter in austria. we had about 2 weeks
at 15 celsius below zero so far this year. the only plant i know of that
grows from norwegia all the way down to the hot tropics (fiji, for example)
are calamus and watercress - but both require more water than most places in
oz can offer.
